South American Oxalis Project

Speaker: Marc Beckstrom

Marc Beckstrom will be our January speaker, discussing his research and fieldwork focused on classifying Oxalis gigantea into several unique species. If you’ve ever wondered about plant taxonomy, and how researchers determine and name plant species, this meeting will provide insight into that process. New plant species are still being documented in the wild today.

Marc will also share photos and discuss how the Oxalis project began, the fieldwork conducted in South America, and the iNaturalist research that supported the study.
