Tyler Carson: "Travels with Tyler"

For our February meeting, CSSSJ member Tyler Carson will take the club on a virtual botanical field trip across California and the Southwest.  The slideshow presentation will show off some of the diversity of the region's succulent flora, and explore the relationships between a region's geology and climate, and the plants that grow there. Tyler will share photos from trips through the SoCal chaparral, Mojave and Sonoran Deserts, as well as some sites local to the Bay Area.

Tyler is a botany and horticulture enthusiast with special interests in the flora of South Africa and the California Floristic Province. Tyler helps organize CSSSJ's seed bank, and advocates that all succulent enthusiasts should try their hand at growing from seed!

COVID precautions: Masks are encouraged, but optional for our meetings.
